I wanted to take this time to introduce you to my regular writing gig, DrinkDenver, a part of The Drink Nation. I am the Local Editor for DrinkDenver and occasional contributor to the national website. I have been writing for DrinkDenver since October of 2012.

The company was founded in 2009 as DrinkPhilly by local resident and entrepreneur Adam Schmidt. His goal was to provide a resource for people to find quality drinks at affordable prices. After the success of DrinkPhilly, several other cities were added, mostly on the East Coast: New York, Jersey Shore, Baltimore and Washington DC. Denver, CO, and Portland, OR, were added in 2012. New cities will be online soon.

The cool thing about The Drink Nation is people can look up bars by type (i.e., sports, brewery, pub, wine, karaoke, etc.) or by neighborhood (for Denver that's LoDo, Ballpark, Highlands, Baker, etc.) as well as good old fashioned alphabetical. If possible, prices and happy hour specials are also listed so you know you are spending your money wisely. It's great for those who are new to a city, visiting another Drink Nation city or just want to keep with up the bar scene in their current city.

When searching for a bar or restaurant, be sure to see if there are any articles about that place at the bottom of the bar's online listing. I can assure you if I've written about a place, it's because I've been there and have experienced first hand what the establishment has to offer. DrinkDenver and the other cities also list events happening around town so you always know when and where the party is.
